With all the linens neatly packed up and stored away until the next opportunity I have been on the hunt for-well, more opportunities! There are some great exhibitions that we have sent proposals out to and so now we wait. Looking back on the lessons learned while participating in ArtPrize we have figured out that the project can serve as an installation piece without performance-especially with the incorporation of sound, which increases the options for exhibition. We will continue to be on the lookout for shows but in the meantime we’ll give the linens a well deserved rest!
Another thing we learned during ArtPrize is the power of on site submissions! The hand written letters held up well with the ironing and it will be interesting to see how they hold up over time. This was something we introduced for this event but may consider offering this in the future as well as a way for participants to submit their letters.
